Captain’s Salve is a rich, all-purpose tallow balm made with Grass-fed beef tallow, shea butter, beeswax and slow-infused botanical oils.

MORE THAN TALLOW, better than

Captain’s Salve starts with the simplicity of traditional tallow skincare—but it doesn’t stop there.

Each jar combines Grass-fed beef tallow, unrefined shea butter, beeswax, vitamin E, and our Trinity Oil: three botanical oils slowly infused with a carefully selected blend of herbs, roots, leaves, and resins.

The result is a rich, concentrated balm designed to moisturize, condition, soften, and nourish skin from head to toe.

No water. No filler. No synthetic fragrance. No unnecessarily complicated routine.

Just whole ingredients, thoughtfully combined.

THE FOUNDATION

Grass-Fed Beef Tallow

Rich and deeply conditioning, tallow provides the fatty foundation of Captain’s Salve.

Its lipid-rich composition makes it especially well suited to dry, rough and weather-exposed skin, leaving the skin feeling soft, conditioned and replenished.

Unrefined Shea Butter

Naturally rich in fatty acids and other plant compounds, shea butter gives Captain’s Salve its creamy richness.

It helps soften rough skin, improve the feel of dryness and maintain moisture, making it equally at home on your face, hands, elbows or heels.

Beeswax

Beeswax gives the salve structure while leaving a light, protective-feeling layer over the skin.

It helps hold moisture against the skin and gives Captain’s Salve the staying power that makes it particularly useful when you're spending time in wind, cold, salt and dry environments.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E provides antioxidant activity while helping protect the oils within the formula from oxidation.

For your skin, it adds another layer of conditioning to an already nutrient-rich blend.

TRINITY OIL

Three Oils. Twelve Botanicals. Slowly Infused.

This is where Captain’s Salve separates itself from an ordinary tallow balm.

Instead of simply mixing a few oils into tallow, we create three separate botanical infusions using olive oil, castor oil and jojoba oil.

Each is paired with its own selection of botanicals and slowly infused before being filtered and blended into the finished salve.

Infused Olive Oil

Calendula • Comfrey • Moringa • Olive Leaf & Twig

Olive oil provides a rich, emollient base naturally containing fatty acids and antioxidant compounds. We slowly infuse it with four botanicals with long histories of traditional topical use.

Calendula — traditionally valued in botanical skincare and naturally rich in plant compounds including flavonoids.

Comfrey Root & Leaf — a classic old-world botanical containing naturally occurring allantoin.

Moringa Leaf — naturally contains numerous antioxidant plant compounds and micronutrients.

Olive Leaf & Twig — sourced from the same remarkable plant that gives us olive oil and naturally rich in polyphenols.

Infused Castor Oil

Marshmallow Root • Matico • Horsetail

Thick, rich castor oil is naturally high in ricinoleic acid and gives the salve a distinctive conditioning quality.

Marshmallow Root — valued for its naturally high mucilage content and traditional use in preparations for dry, delicate skin.

Matico — sometimes called “Soldier’s Herb,” a South American botanical with a remarkable history of traditional topical use.

Horsetail — an ancient plant naturally notable for its mineral and silica content.

Infused Jojoba Oil

Frankincense • Myrrh • Vetiver

Jojoba is technically a liquid wax rather than a conventional plant oil. Its unique composition gives it exceptional stability and makes it prized in skincare.

Into it we infuse three of history’s most celebrated aromatic botanicals:

Frankincense — an ancient resin used in personal care preparations for thousands of years.

Myrrh — another prized aromatic resin with an extraordinarily long history of cosmetic and ceremonial use.

Vetiver — an aromatic root traditionally valued for its earthy character and use in personal care.

WHY PUT ALL OF THIS IN ONE JAR?

Because Captain’s Salve isn't built around one miracle ingredient.

It's built around synergy.

Tallow provides richness. Shea conditions. Beeswax helps hold moisture against the skin. Olive, castor and jojoba contribute their own distinctive fatty-acid and wax profiles. And our botanical infusions add the complexity of twelve carefully selected plants.

Every ingredient has a reason for being there.

No filler ingredients added simply to make more product.

And because Captain’s Salve contains no added water, you're getting a remarkably concentrated balm. Start with a small amount, warm it between your fingers, and spread it where you need it.

ONE JAR. A LOT OF TERRITORY.

Use Captain’s Salve anywhere that could use rich, concentrated moisture and conditioning:

Face & Neck — use a small amount as a rich daily or nighttime moisturizer.

Beard — work through facial hair while conditioning the skin underneath.

Hands & Knuckles — especially after washing, working outdoors or exposure to dry weather.

Elbows, Knees & Heels — ideal for areas that tend to become rough and dry.

Lips — apply a very small amount whenever they feel dry.

Tattoos — use on fully healed tattoos to moisturize the skin and keep it looking conditioned.

After the Elements — replenish skin after long days spent around wind, salt, sun, cold or dry air.

Everyday Body Care — anywhere your skin needs additional moisture.

From the face to the feet, the idea is simple:

Fewer products. Better ingredients. One jar.

MADE SLOWLY. USED DAILY.

Captain’s Salve is handmade in small batches from ingredients chosen deliberately—not because they're fashionable, but because they earned their place in the formula.

Some come from modern skincare. Others have histories stretching back centuries.

We brought them together into something simple enough to use every day.
